Matsangoni Aggregation Center Captures Market For Its Products Made From Cassava Flour

The Malanga aggregation center has had a momentum, selling their products before they could even have them on the shelves, literally. The members have been hard at work figuring out their expansion strategies with the first step being the certification from Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).

“We are grateful for having captured our local markets with the sell of our scones, especially to school going children who have also made their parents regular customers of ours. Our neighbors, at times, preorder before we could even finish the baking process attracted just by the tantalizing smell”, said Ms. Gertrude, a member of the aggregation center.

“We look forward to properly packaging our scones and acquiring KEBS certification in order to look for market in schools”, she added to an idea hatched by our M&E team.

They hope to recoup and overcome the losses suffered during the pandemic and presented a worthy work plan that would get them there. The group was granted an oven by the project which has been instrumental in their scaling over the years.

The group aims to also restructure its business plan in order to properly carter for the future of their group, taking into account all possible future developments.

“As the project is coming to an end, we need to really evaluate ourselves and see how we can survive future issues, taking ques from the covid-19 pandemic in order to cushion ourselves from future negative developments, utilizing all tools at our disposal”, declared ms. Mary, the centers’ advisor.
