Sustainable Development Goal

Water, Sanitation and Health (WaSH)

Hygiene, sanitation and water supply continue to have health implications and remain central to reducing poverty, promoting equality, and supporting socioeconomic development.

USTADI aims to contribute towards this sixth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of ensuring universal access to safe and affordable drinking water basic sanitation and hygiene for all.

Since 2012, USTADI has embarked on various approaches including the Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) to promote hygiene and sanitation practices within the communities we work.  We believe that active involvement of health professionals in hygiene, sanitation, and water supply is crucial to accelerating and consolidating progress for health and it is for this reason that we developed our model on implementation of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects into a working partnership with ministry of health to deliver quality WASH services, to improve monitoring, and to expand the knowledge base.
