World over, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are taking a lead in helping to meet most of the economic-related sustainable development goals (SDGs), including promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, increasing employment opportunities and decent work especially for the poor, advancing sustainable industrialisation and innovation, and creating a positive push for a higher quality of life, better education and good health and nutrition for all.
It is for this reason that USTADI had made the SME sector one of its central areas of focus towards the realization of sustainable economic development, poverty eradication and social inclusion.
Our programs clustered under the support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) emphasize the development of entrepreneurship knowledge and skills, and promoting entrepreneurship and small enterprise creation and growth within local communities through market oriented training programs. We address unemployment especially in rural areas and amongst women and young people by focusing on youth and women led enterprises, providing transferable, technical, vocational and life skills development training and link the enterprises to market opportunities and financial service providers besides the provision of on-going coaching and mentoring services.
